Roxanne is of Anglo-Italian descent, born and raised on the territory of the lək’wəŋən peoples (Victoria, BC). In the spring of 2023, they graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Majoring in Photography. While studying in Montreal they were awarded the Experimental Learning Grant, were published in local and international zines, and curated and participated in many student-run art shows. They have displayed their work in Pierre François Ouellette Art Contemporain, the VAV, the WIP, and pop-up galleries across Quebec. They have worked as a paid intern for Kista Howard at HOWARD 495 Art Advisory and Gallerie.  

Roxanne’s work focuses on sharing stories from the outcasts of society. They are interested in creating community engagement through grassroots projects and are passionate about the possibilities of combining activism and storytelling through art. Today, they are working towards publishing Ada’itx: Stories of A Blockade Community, a collection of photography, handwritten letters, poems, songs, and artworks from Fairy Creek land defenders. In the future, Roxanne aims to co-create spaces that are accessible and represent diverse perspectives.
